Hyundai Santa Fe 2011

24. November 2010

The Hyundai Sante Fe has finally been showcased and after spending several million dollars developing a new engine, Hyundai seems to have come up with a powerhouse.

Hyundai will be offering a set of two engines. The entry level engine will be a 2.4-liter inline-four that can produce up to 175hp, this is the same model as currently on the Tucson. Then there is the meaty 3.5-liter Lambda V6 which can fire up to 276hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. It can manage 0-60 in under 7.5 seconds

Hyundai have spent some time improving the fuel efficiency of both engines, the 2.4 liter engine can manage up to 28mpg where are the 3.5 liter engine can do up to 26mpg, which really isnt bad for the size of engine.

The exterior of the car has changed very little compared to the 2010 model but that is no bad thing as it was a good looking machine to begin with.

From a safety point of view the 2011 Santa Fe steps it up a level with 6 standard airbags, which include side air curtain airbags and three-point seatbelts.

Overall it looks like a promising machine that will probably do well in its sector of the market.
