A little history on the origins of the Jeep Wrangler its heritage goes back over 60 years since its original introduction for military use, transporting troops in WWII. IN the mid 1980’s the Wrangler nametag was introduced to identify the early CJs. The Wrangler was introduced to make a more modern and civilian version of its predecessor.
The 2001 Jeep Wrangler model features a new redesigned instrument panel, a new center rack and more storage areas. Seating is more comfortable. A new steering wheel with audio, hands-free phone and cruise control buttons and many other Jeep Wrangler accessories, there is also a hard top option available. A quieter ride is also noticeable in the 2011 Jeep Wrangler.
The 2011 Jeep Wrangler is available in 4 trims, the Sport 2-door 4x2 at a MSRP of $22, 045, the Sport 2-door 4x4 S package at a MSRP of $24,245, the Sahara 2-door 4x4 at a MSRP of $27,245, the Rubicon 2-door 4x4 at a MSRP of $29,245; all available with the 3.8L V6 SMPI engine with 202hp/237lb-ft of torque and a 6-speed manual transmission, the DANA 44 heavy duty rear axle, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), metal doors with roll up windows, cloth seats with adjustable head restraints and of course the full size spare tire with matching wheel. There are 10 exterior colors to choose from, the Sunrider soft top is standard in all models.
There are a few options available as the leather wrapped steering wheel on the Sahara and Rubicon trims, air conditioning, speed controls, 368W 7 speaker Infinity audio system, with the Media center 130 for CD/MP3 listening and the SIRIUS Satellite radio including the subwoofer.
The 2011 Jeep Wrangler is friendlier on-road, the Wrangler has made impressive changes over the years, without forgetting its origins it’s still an off-road vehicle.
